THE HUNT EXPERIENCE

Our hunting seasons kick off in mid-August with Montana Archery Antelope. Beginning September 1, we move into the Wyoming Archery season for Deer, Elk, and Antelope. October 15th marks the start of Wyoming Mule Deer Rifle season. Rifle Elk opens October 10th.

As November arrives, we continue with Wyoming Whitetail rifle hunts as well as Montana Mule Deer rifle hunts. During this time, some hunters also choose to do spot-and-stalk archery hunts alongside rifle seasons.

In addition to our fall hunts, we offer a limited number of Mountain Lion hunts, along with Spring Bear, and Spring Merriam’s Turkey.

Hunt Trophy Elk, Mule Deer, Whitetail Deer & Antelope

We hunt nearly 100,000 acres of privately leased land, along with select State land access. Much of this ground has been under lease with us for over 30 continuous years, giving us unmatched familiarity with the terrain and game movement. What truly sets Nelson Outfitters apart is how we conduct our hunts. We never double-book and we never mix hunting groups. If you come alone, you’ll hunt alone with your guide. Every hunt is a true 1:1 hunter-to-guide experience. Most of our hunters harvest their animals within the first few days of their hunt, but unlike many outfitters, we don’t send you home early. We encourage you to enjoy the rest of your scheduled hunt with opportunities to fish, hunt coyotes, relax, sightsee, or spend some time exploring Sheridan and the surrounding areas on your own. 

All Hunts Include:

– Hunting License assistance – Nelson Outfitters  submits all hunting license applications  through the G&F draw system. In Wyoming, we apply through the Outfitter Web Portal, directly linking your license with Nelson Outfitters. We have maintained near 100% success in the deer draw for many years.
– Lodging / Hotel accommodations at Candlewood Suites during hunt days
– Transportation while in the field
– Lunch each hunt day
– Professional 1:1 Guide

-Field care of the game with transport to a local taxidermist and meat processor.

Additional Costs Not Included:

– First night hotel stay
– Breakfast and dinner
– Game processing, taxidermy, and shipping

We are proud to have a high number of repeat hunters year after year. However, we intentionally limit the number of hunters we take to maintain exceptional opportunity and quality for every client. All hunts are booked on a first-come, first-served basis.
